Instapundit and The Truth Laid Bear are working to "mobilize the blogosphere" to get our representatives and senators to cut the pork from the states' budget. The purpose of this? To help pay for the rebuilding in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
A tax hike would kill the economy, so we really don't want the politicians to go that route and it would be so much easier for them the cut some of their unnecessary budget requests and pet projects to free up millions, possibly billions, of dollars to pay for the reconstruction of the Gulf Coast.
Unfortunately, "easy" is not a word that goes with politics and money matters, so everyone is needed to really bombard our representatives and senators with our requests to CUT THE PORK. Get them to unclench their fists from the purse-strings and help! Click on the links above to find out what pork projects your state may have, who to contact, and how to reach them. I have already sent an email to my representative and if I don't hear from him in the near future, I will send another email and another until I get an answer!
