Band Concert
You know you live in a nice American city when the Middle School's band concert consists of this program:
...and the Nation's Rejoice(written in the early 1990s commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany.)
An American Ballad
American Salute (incorporates the songs America and America the Beautiful)
Alamo March
Remembrance Day
Tuscola Mountain Song (written by the Chief Arranger of the U.S. Military Academy Band at West Point)
I Pledge My Allegiance (which included the choir singing the Preamble to the Constitution and with the Pledge recited, including "under God"!)
Daughter #2 played in this one. Daughter #1 is at the high school in Wind Ensemble and they will be performing more patriotic music at the community concert next month! (they are really excited, too, because they get to perform music from Wicked as well!)
