More Weather Photos of the Yard

As a friend (she lives about 30 minutes north of me) on Facebook  stated: "I live in Narnia!"
Of course, it's supposed to warm up again causing more flooding! I'll be very happy when this winter is over!

December 2010

This is crazy! We have had snowfall every day since December 1st! This type of snowfall is normal for oh, late January or February! Hopefully it will let up enough for me to do some Christmas shopping this weekend. This is what our yard looks like:

This is a pattern I beaded based on the accompanying photo. The colors were chosen by my program to best match the photo, but I'm not happy with the results. I'll be trying it again, but I'll change out the colors to make it closer to the photo.

The second pattern based on the next photo turned out better, though it went gray rather than the green/blue of the photos. I am also working on a series of patterns for cuffs based on textures and nature. I like how they're turning out and I think they'll be fabulous when they are beaded!

Our Frozen World

I apologize for no new posts lately. The weather is really getting to me. We have had snow off and on every day since New Year's Eve and we haven't reached freezing (32 degrees F.) since January 1st. It's getting to be a bit much and yes, those are our "icicle" lights encased in real icicles. I don't think the Christmas lights will be coming down anytime soon.

Why Spring in Ohio is Difficult

One day it's sunny and warm, the next day it's snowing! Yes, that's right, snowing! Here we are a week into April and we have more than an inch of snow on the ground! But, it's OK because tomorrow it's going to be 50! Spring is such a weather roller coaster here! On the left is a photo from the 4th and the other is from the 6th.

Evening of Stormy Saturday

Here is Sadie braving the blizzard. She went out onto the deck and the snow was up to her chest. She looked around and then dropped her head right into the snow and started licking it up! Silly puppy!

Midafternoon Stormy Saturday

This is from this afternoon (about 3:15pm) and the photos from the previous post were from about 10:30am. So you can see the difference there.

Sadie and Snow

Our golden retriever is the sweetest dog. She is patient and loving and she has gotten me through some tough times. I have loved seeing her these last few days playing in the snow and I wanted to share! (She's almost 7 and has bad hips and a skin problem, but you'd never know it after she's been playing outside!)

More Snow Today

We came very close to a foot of snow overall in the last 36-48 hours. And it was much colder today, so the icy snow that was left on the roads was like an ice rink to drive on. Luckily, I only had to go out briefly today. Poor daughter didn't get her snow day for her birthday though, despite how much more snow we ended up getting!Aside from her sad face, Sadie actually likes the snow. She comes in acting like a puppy. It's like the cold air gives her energy!

Snow Day

Well, it turned out that winter wasn't done with us yet. It snowed all night last night and has continued all day. We've had at least 6" of snow, if not more. The kids had a snow day today and if it keeps up, they might have another tomorrow, which would thrill my daughter since her birthday is tomorrow! It's very pretty and I don't mind it at all when I don't have to go anywhere. I just hope dear husband gets home without a problem.
