Why did they stay?
Been wondering why so many people stayed in New Orleans when they were told to leave. Okay, you don't want to leave your home and you believe that you can ride out the storm, but the predictions they were making would have gotten me out of town with as many things as I could carry. Yes, some people had nowhere to go and no way to get there anyway, but there were also a lot of people that could have left yet they didn't. So much destruction and loss of life and some of the lives could have been saved had they followed directions.
Now they are moving people from the Super Dome in New Orleans to the Astro Dome in Houston. They will stay there for the foreseeable future. They are also bringing in Navy ships to help with refugees needing medical attention.
Think there will be a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans next spring?
They (the news channels) are spending so much time talking about New Orleans that Biloxi, Gulfport and Pensacola are being put by the wayside and they have major destruction and devastation, too. There are a lot of people there who have lost their homes and everything, too.
Prayers go out to all of them...
