New Patterns

I haven't posted any new pieces since my entry into the July EBW Challenge, but I am working on new patterns. OK, so they are for the August EBW Challenge "Art Deco", but the theme has really inspired me! I have about three different takes on the same geometric pattern using different color palettes from the Art Deco period. I would have loved to do something along the lines of the beautiful statuary and nudes from the period, but I just can't seem to translate them into beadwork. I think I'll have to work on that some more...

Moonlight and Shadows

Well, I've completed my piece for the "Midsummer Nights Dream" EBW challenge and here it is:

Almost Finished!

I have completed the necklace part of my piece and I'm now working on the "pendant" part of it. It will be a slide that will "float" around the necklace and can cover the clasp so it will appear solid! I think it's going to be wonderful, but we'll have to see how it fairs against the stunning pieces that are already entered in the Midsummer's Night Dream challenge for July! There are some GORGEOUS pieces already listed!!

A Work in Progress

Finally, here are some pictures of my July challenge piece as I work on it. There are three sizes of beads in different shades of purple and deep blue. I've also included a photo of the embellishments I'd like to use...if I can figure out how to incorporate them!

New Piece - July Theme

I am currently working on a new piece and it is something I've never done before. OK, I've done tubular peyote before, but not with three different sizes of beads that create the ridged effect. I've also done them in a spiral for this piece. I am going to make a choker/necklace out of it and embellish it with a variety of beads, crystals, charms and it is going to be my entry for the Etsy Beadweaver Challenge for July. That theme is "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and I think this new project will show my interpretation of that theme wonderfully! I'll keep you posted! It feels so great to be inspired to bead again!

Latest Piece

Here is the latest bracelet I've created. This is a chunky take on my "links" necklaces. The alternate links in this particular bracelet are stone rings in what appears to be agate. They have a slight blue tint and remind me of clouds, thus the title of this piece..."Silver Lining". The sky blue links are Japanese seed beads with a picot trim of 15/0 AB clear and metallic silver Delicas. I think I'll enter this in the monthly challenge for "Anything Goes".
